Following approval to merge by the Scottish Government, the City of Glasgow College came into existence on 1st September 2010.
Scotland’s newest and largest College will meet the needs of a very diverse range of learners, employers and the community in the centre of the magnificent city of Glasgow. We share the common goal of establishing a world class College in new world class buildings. With the support of the Scottish Funding Council and the Scottish Government, our vision is now closer to reality.
This merger of Glasgow’s three specialist colleges presents a once in a lifetime opportunity to create a unique sector leading college, located in state of the art buildings in an emerging ‘Learning Quarter’ in the very heart of Scotland’s largest and most dynamic city. Our new college will bring huge benefits for both students and staff while also contributing to the economic prosperity of Glasgow and the West of Scotland.
We will offer a comprehensive and innovative curriculum, building on the significant strengths and international success of our constituent colleges, to become the launchpad for the people of Glasgow and beyond to flourish and, in so doing, support the economic well-being of Scotland.
