New Campus Glasgow reveals masterplan at public exhibitions

1 Feb 2010

New Campus Glasgow is set to unveil the first public exhibition of its masterplan for the Glasgow super campus at two events in March, which are open to the public. The events are being held on Thursday 4 March at the Premier Inn on Ballater Street in Glasgow, and on Thursday 11 March in Buchanan Galleries.

New Campus Glasgow is a visionary project to create high-quality, sustainable learning environments for the new super college, which will be formed through the merger of Glasgow's Central, Metropolitan and Nautical Colleges. The new college will be located across two campuses; the City campus at Cathedral Street and the Riverside campus at Thistle Street.

The college will be home to around 1,500 staff and 40,000 students, and will become the heart of the city's learning quarter.

Key representatives of the project team will be on hand at both events to show people around the exhibition, and answers questions on the project. They will also be gathering opinion of the project during the event, with a questionnaire available for all who attend to complete.

Iain Marley, Project Director of New Campus Glasgow, said; "We are really excited about these two events and would like to encourage everybody to come along and have a look. The new super campus will have a hugely positive effect on Glasgow: it will provide the new college with a flexible, sustainable and high quality learning environment, befitting its status as the one of the UK's largest colleges, and make a significant contribution to the social and economic regeneration of the city.

The new campus will have an impact on many people in Glasgow, and we are very interested in hearing their views. We therefore look forward to welcoming them and receiving their feedback at these very important events."
